4 days/3 nights tour to Armenia

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the hotel. Take a cozy City Tour in Yerevan. Visit the Republic Square, the Cascade, enjoy an excellent view over the city, admire the beauty of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet and take astroll along the Northern Avenue. Complete your day with awelcome dinner at a typical Armenian restaurant.

Day 2: Head for KhorVirap Fortress-Monastery (4-17th c.). KhorVirap is one of the most popular destinations in Armenia for a number of reasons, but primarily because it is where Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years for preaching Christianity. To this day you can visit the underground chamber which Gregory was imprisoned in over 1700 years ago. Drive towards Areni 1 Cave Complex - a famous archaeological site where the earliest known shoe was found along with three other remarkable assets. Have your lunch in Areni and continue the journey to Noravank (13-14 c.). Noravank - the “New Monastery” is a medieval Armenian monastery standing out not only with its appearance but also with the surrounding majestic scenery of Amaghu River gorge. On the way to Noravank visit Areni Winery and taste different sorts of wines produced in the region. After Noravank head for Tatev Monastery (9th c.). Before reaching the breathtaking heights of Tatevyou’ll have the chance to take a ride over the 500m deep gorge of Vorotan river on the longest cable car in the world “Wings of Tatev” (registered in Guinness World Records). Have dinner in Tatev and drive back to Yerevan.

Day 3: Take a tour to Garni Pagan Temple (1st c. AD). The temple of Garni itself was dedicated to the god of sun Mythra. Although the Temple of Garni resembles the Hellenic-period monuments, it is still an unexcelled sample of Armenian monumental architecture of its times. Experience “Lavash” (armenian traditional bread) baking master-class and degustation in Garni village. Lunch. Continue your way to Geghard Monastery (4th c., UNESCO World Heritage Site). The Monastery of Geghard is one of the Armenian large medieval complexes famous for its original and rare architectural compound: two churches dug in a huge cliff, vestibule, big graveyard chapel, monasticcells and chapels which form a worship complex not yielding to the similar world structures.Wind your way to the “Blue Pearl of Armenia” - Lake Sevan. Visit closely situated Monastic Complex of Sevanavank (9th c.). Before returning back to Yerevan take a tour the ski resort of Tsaghkadzor, see the majestic Kecharis Monastery (11-13th c.) and take a ride on a ropeway to the peak of the mountain.
